There is Mac OSX 10.6.7 update available now. I have already finished updating it.

It is almost 10.7, which is 'Lion'. I have already had Mac OSX 10.7 Lion preview and installed it first.

But there was something wrong to a few applications with 10.7 Lion, so I downloaded it again. And I now have Mac OSX 10.6.7 updated.

These are the updating features (Mac OS X v10.6.7).

The 10.6.7 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes that:     

• Improve the reliability of Back to My Mac     
• Resolve an issue when transferring files to certain SMB servers     
• Address various minor Mac App Store bugs

Over the last few weeks we’ve heard rumours that Apple would be dropping the price of MobileMe from $99 (for a 1 year subscription) to $0. We expected this to be announced during an upcoming Apple media event.

The folks at iLounge have just confirmed the rumours are true, stating that the newest version of MobileMe is slated to launch next month and they say it will be completely free. iLounge also claims that MobileMe will be getting some major changes.

To accommodate the new changes iLounge said Apple will continue to provide extended support for subscribers that have recently purchased MobileMe (for at least for 1 year). iLounge said they received the news from a trusted source who works for a major educational institution and had noticed the school’s supplier wasn’t offering the current version of MobileMe and said that Apple is encouraging new students to grab the 60 day trial.

Developer preview version of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion has already been released by Apple. As soon as Apple seeded an early version of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion to the developers, it was only a matter of time, and now the disk image is being shared by a good few thousand of users on various torrent sites. Now you can download Mac OS X 10.7 Lion from various Torrent sites but it is not safe to download it from the torrent sites.

According to 9to5Mac, an installed version of Lion will “phone home” to Apple with no telling whether the Cupertino outfit will seek to block users not already registered as a developer. Also, it really makes a little sense to download it from a shady site however when Apple offers a Mac Dev account for just $99. So it is wise to register in Mac developer account.

As has become a tradition over the years, we present a list of the most visited BitTorrent sites of the new year. At the start of 2011 The Pirate Bay continues to pull in the most visitors, followed by Torrentz and isoHunt. Demonoid settles in fourth place thanks to a year without prolonged downtime, while LimeTorrents gets the honor of best newcomer.

What’s hot in the wonderful world of BitTorrent in 2011? At first glance little seems to have changed, as the top 3 is identical to that of last year. But moving down the list we see quite a few movers and shakers as well as a surprising newcomer.

Below we have compiled a list of the 10 most-visited torrent sites at the start of the new year. Only public and English language sites are included. The list is based on traffic rank reports from Compete and Alexa. In addition, we include last year’s ranking for each of the 10 sites.

1. The Pirate Bay

The Pirate Bay is probably the best known BitTorrent brand on the Internet. The site was founded in 2003 and is still expanding, despite the immense legal witch hunt launched by the entertainment industries several years ago.

2. Torrentz

Torrentz has been the leading BitTorrent meta-search engine for years. A few weeks ago the site traded in its .COM domain and switched to .EU, but this didn’t affect the site’s traffic.

3. IsoHunt

Last year was a tough one for isoHunt, as it became the first search engine that had to implement a keyword filter provided by the MPAA. Despite this setback, isoHunt is still the third largest torrent site in terms of traffic. In 2011, isoHunt hopes to get rid of the filter through the Appeals Court.

4. KickassTorrents

KickassTorrents was the fastest growing newcomer of last year, and managed to continue this upward trend throughout 2010. The site released many new features and continues to innovate, still without a single banner ad on the site.

5. BTjunkie

BTjunkie had a pretty quiet year, which is usually good news for a site that operates in the BitTorrent niche. The only setback was the removal of the site’s front page from Google due to a DMCA complaint. As last year, BTjunkie settles in fifth place.

6. Demonoid.me

The impossible happened. Demonoid finished 2010 with only a minimal amount of downtime, compared to weeks or months in previous years. A few weeks ago the site announced that it would move from the familiar .COM to a .ME domain in response to the news about US domain seizures.

7. ExtraTorrent.com

ExtraTorrent is one of those robust torrent indexes that don’t make the news very often. In 2010 it continued to expand and the site gained two spots compared to last year.

8. TorrentDownloads.net

TorrentDownloads is in the same league as ExtraTorrent, a no nonsense torrent index that provides torrents to millions of users each month.

9. TorrentReactor

TorrentReactor fooled most of the tech press last year when it announced that it had bought a Russian town, one of the better PR stunts seen in 2010. On the flipside TorrentReactor seems to have lost some traffic due to a Google penalty, dropping the site to 9th place this year.

10. LimeTorrents.com

LimeTorrents is the best newcomer of 2010 in terms of traffic, which promises a lot for the new year. The site went live half a year ago and already made it into the top 10 in this short period. It’s also a bit ironic as ‘Limewire’ got shutdown a few months ago.

Social networking sites like My Space, Facebook and Twitter can be great

resources for staying in touch with friends, but they should never become

a substitute for physical interaction with others.

Unfortunately for many people, checking in on social networking sites takes up

a lot of their spare time and sometimes can even become a bit of an addiction.

To help you determine if you use social networking sites appropriately we have

put together the questionnaire below. Answer "yes" or "no" to each question and

then total your answers to determine if you are addicted to social networking sites.

1. Are you a member of multiple social networking sites?

2. Do you visit your social networking sites with no goal or specific purpose in mind?
3. Are you usually surprised by how much time you spend on a social networking site?
4. Have you ever said no to an activity with your family or friends because of social networking sites?
5. Have you ever ignored a responsibility like homework or chores because of social networking sites?
6. Do you ever stay up late or get up early to spend more time on social networking sites?
7. Have you ever hidden your time on social networking sites from family or friends?
8. Have you ever used social networking sites when a parent or teacher has told you not to?
9. Do you prefer to interact with people on social networking sites rather than face to face?
10. Has anyone ever commented on how much time you spend on social networking sites?
11. Do you have more friends on your social networking sites than you do in your real life?

12. Do you become frustrated or angry when a social networking site goes down or is unavailable?

Type 1

If you answered "yes" to between one and four questions then you are most likely

not addicted to social networking sites. You probably use social networking sites

to extend your relationships with family and friends but recognise that keeping up

with these sites are less important than strengthening the relationships that exist

outside of the Internet.

Type 2

If you answered "yes" to between five and eight questions then you may be addicted

to social networking sites. For the next week try to write down every time you visit

a social networking site and how long you spend on it.

Type 3

If you answered "yes" to nine or more questions then you are likely to be addicted

to social networking sites. Your use of these sites is most likely getting in the way

of your real life and you may even be using them as a substitute for getting out and

making friends, or nurturing the friendships that you already have.

Try to wean yourself off of social networking sites by spending less time on them

each day, and more time on activities away from the computer.

Today I installed Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.

It is really cool, many new features, launchpad, resume, mac app,

mission control, full screen app etc.

If you want to get have your system updated to the latest Mac OSX OS

– Mac OSx Lion, then that is very simple to achieve. Just make sure to

follow these simple steps.

1. First of all, you will need to have the Mac OSx Lion DVD inserted in your

DVD ROM. You can insert the DVD in the computer and then have the process

started when you will boot up OR you will be able to have the disk inserted

when the computer will be running and then the app will run.

2. After step one, the fun will begin. You will see that a big black X will appear

and it will tell you that you need to restart your computer. Also, make sure that

you will have at least 9 GB of free space, before you will commence with

installing the new OS and if you want to also have the Developer Tools installed,

then you will need to have 12 GB.

3. Now you will need to have your language chosen. Well, there is nothing special

here. You know what to do.

4. Continuing with the installation process, you will see that the Leopard welcome

screen will appear. You can read the “More information” section, but we both know

that you won’t. Everyone wants to have the OS installed as soon as possible.

5. Now, you will need to have the installation destination chosen. If you have

a MacBook Pro, then you will certainly have only one HDD and that means you will

have your choices limited by this. But if you are someone who doesn’t want to get

a straight upgrade on your computer, then just head over to the Options menu and

click it. There you will be presented with 3 ways for having your OS  installed.

You can install, archive or upgrade.

6. After making your option, your installation will begin. This is a point of no return.

If you are sure of the changes that you will want to make, then hitting the install button

will be just a good idea. If you want to change some settings, then just click the

“Go Back” menu and make the changes you wish to make.

7. Now you will jut need to wait until he installer will finish. The whole installation

process will take you around 1 hour to be complete.

8.After the installation is done, your computer will restart and then you will be

able to enjoy your new OS!
