올 여름으로 예정된 OS X Mountain Lion의 공식 출시에 앞서 '메시지 (Messages)' 앱을 미리 사용해 볼 수 있습니다 (다운로드). 최근 공개된 OS X Mountain Lion의 Developer Preview 1의 관련 기사나 동영상을 보셔서 아시겠지만 OS X Mountain Lion의 메시지 앱은 iOS 5의 iMessage를 맥으로 가져온 개념으로 기존 맥에 설치되어 있던 iChat을 대체하며 iChat을 능가하는 애플리케이션입니다.

OS X Mountain Lion 'Messages' 의 주요 특징은 아래와 같습니다.

1. iOS건 Mac OS X건 상관없이 무제한 메시지 전송 가능
2. 텍스트 메시지 뿐만 아니라 사진, 동영상, 첨부파일, 연락처, 위치 정보 등 전송 가능
3. 영상 통화 (FaceTime) 가능
4. iMessage 뿐만 아니라 AIM, Yahoo, Google Talk, 및 Jabber 계정 지원

오늘 소개할 구글 크롬 (Chrome) 확장 프로그램 (Extension)은 'Context Menu Search'입니다. Context Menu Search는 말 그대로 사용자가 보고 있는 그리고 현재 경험하고 있는 그 상황에 맞는 메뉴를 오른쪽 클릭으로 확장하여 검색하는 프로그램입니다.


다시 말하면 위에 보이는 이미지처럼 자신이 현재 보고 있는 웹 사이트 (웹 페이지)에서 검색하고자 하는 단어나 문장이 있을 경우에, 해당 단어나 문장을 드래그한 후 오른쪽 클릭을 합니다. 그렇게 되면 위에 보시는 것처럼 그 상황에 맞는 컨텍스트 메뉴 (Context Menu) 나타나고 미리 설정 등록된 웹사이트를 통해서 다른 창을 열지 않고 바로 검색이 가능하게 됩니다. 이렇게 함으로써 또 다른 탭이나 창을 여는 번거로움을 줄일 수 있고 휴율적인 검색이 가능하다고 생각이 됩니다. 그런데 한가지 단점이 있다면 위의 Context Menu Search 를 사용하기 위해서는 구글 크롬을 사용하셔야 한다는 것입니다. 현재로서는 구글 크롬만 지원하는 확장 프로그램이라고 합니다. Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion의 출시가 올 여름으로 다가오면서 애플에서는 개발자들에게 Mountain Lion의 Developer Preview를 공개했습니다. 물론 다운로드를 받기 위해서는 애플에 개발자로 등록이 되어 있어야 합니다 (http://developer.apple.com/).

Mac OS X 스크린 샷의 디폴트 파일 명칭은 'Screen Shot'로 시작이 되는데 이런 파일명을 자신의 원하는 대로 바꿀 수 있는 트윅입니다.

• 일단 터미널을 연 다음 아래의 Command를 입력합니다. 입력할 때 바꾸고자 하는 파일명을 설정하시고 입력하시면 됩니다.

defaults write com.apple.screencapture name "MyScreenShot"

• SystemUIServer 를 다시 시작해 줍니다.

killall SytemUIServer

• 이렇게 SystemUIServe를 재시작한 다음에는 아래 스크린 샷처럼 명칭이 바뀐 것을 확인할 수가 있습니다.

변경된 스크린 샷 명칭을 원래대로 하고자 하시면 위의 과정을 다시 반복하시면 됩니다. (Back to Default)

오늘 소개해 드릴 증강현실 (Augmented Reality)은 아이패드를 기반으로 한 회사 (Company) 및 공장 (Factory) 투어 가이드입니다. 최근에 발간된 제 논문 8~9페이지에서도 언급한 것처럼 증강현실이 비즈니스에 이용이 되고 있는 사례입니다. 이러한 개념으로 도입이 된다면 안전보건 컨설팅 및 안전보건 교육 (3D) 및 콘텐츠에도 충분히 활용이 가능합니다.

라이언의 좋은 기능 중 하나가 미션 컨트롤 (Mission Control)인데요. 미션 컨트롤 애니메이션 디폴트 반응속도는 0.2초~0.25초라고 합니다. 그런데 이 반응 속도를 조금 더 빠르게 하는 방법이 있다네요. 그렇게 함으로써 맥의 전체적인 성능 속도가 빨라지는 것은 아니지만 그래도 빠르게 되니 기분은 좋네요. 터미널을 열어서 한번 해 보세요. 원상 복구도 간단합니다.
