How to get a Mac Serial Number quickly

Creativity | 2011. 4. 26. 00:40 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

You can quickly retrieve any Macs serial number via the command line by using the following command string:

system_profiler |grep "r (system)"

스크린샷_2011-04-25_at_오전_9.30.02.png

The command results will look something like this:

$ system_profiler |grep "r (system)"
Serial Number (system): 739XXXX
XXXX

스크린샷_2011-04-25_at_오전_9.30.08(2).png

If you just grep for “Serial Number” you’ll be presented with serial numbers to other hardware included in the Mac, which is why the “r (system)” qualifier is included.

Once you have a serial number, you can do things like check AppleCare warranty status and repair history.

Apple will take both hybrid e-paper and LCD for the next

Creativity | 2011. 4. 8. 07:57 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

hybrid-epaper-lcd-display-ipad.gif

Apple will more focus on Design and User experience for decades to come

Creativity | 2011. 4. 3. 01:50 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

On April 1, 1976, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne established a small company to sell personal computer kits hand-built by Wozniak. That company, as you probably know, was Apple Computer.

jobswithphone-360.jpg

Thirty-five years later, Apple is now the most valuable technology company in the world. Its market capitalization exceeds $317 billion, trumping longtime rival Microsoft by more than $100 billion. And Apple’s iconic products sit on the desks and in the pockets of millions of people across the world.

Most people know bits and pieces of the Apple story, but the company has a complicated history. Some of us may not know, for example, that Apple had a third co-founder, Ronald Wayne, who got cold feet and sold his 10% stake in Apple less than two weeks later. Everybody knows Steve Jobs, but they may not know Mike Markkula, one of Apple’s first angel investors and the company’s second CEO.

In the 35 years of Apple’s existence, the company has gone through hell and back. The launch of the Macintosh in 1984 and the coinciding “1984″ Super Bowl commercial remain symbols one of Apple’s highest points, but only a year later, then-CEO John Sculley forced Steve Jobs out of the company. A decade later, in 1996, the company was on the brink of destruction when it acquired NeXT and brought Steve Jobs back. In 1997, Microsoft invested $150 million in Apple to keep it afloat (something it probably now regrets), and soon after came Apple’s golden years with the iPod, iMac, MacBook, iPhone and now the iPad.

We don’t necessarily want to dwell on Apple’s past; you can visit Wikipedia if you want a lesson in Apple Inc.’s history. Instead, let’s focus on what Apple might do in the next 35 years.

What’s In Store For The Next 35 Years?

For the last 35 years, Apple has almost always been the underdog. While it languished, Microsoft flourished. In fact, Apple surpassed Microsoft in market cap for the first time last May.

For the next few decades, however, the technology titan will be incumbent. Apple has a giant target on its back, and it’s not just Microsoft taking aim. Apple also faces challenges from Google, Amazon and a plethora of mobile device manufacturers. While Apple is handily beating its competition today, the status quo could change at any moment.

And while Apple fends off Android, PCs and competing tablets, it has its eye on creating a post-PC world. Rather than compete on hardware specs, it competes on design and user experience. Its a world of mobile devices that Apple intends to dominate for decades to come.

Leading the charge is Steve Jobs, not only the company’s CEO but also its heart and soul. While he’s currently on medical leave, he did show up for the unveiling of the iPad 2, demonstrating things aren’t as dire as previously rumored.

Still, Apple will some day have to continue its quest to redefine technology without its iconic leader, and many question whether anybody can provide the design and product vision Jobs has imparted on the company he founded 35 years ago.

Even if you aren’t a fan of Apple products, it’s tough not to be impressed with what Apple has been able to accomplish since 1976. We wonder what products it will create and challenges it will face in the next 35 years. Right now though, the sun is definitely shining down on Cupertino.

Creativity | 2010. 11. 30. 21:53 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

Each year comes with quite a number of smartphones or range of models

developed by many mobile companies across the whole world. But there are

only few which stand out amongst others and get to the top list which is released

every year. Therefore, the ten best smartphones of the year 2010-11 in terms of

having the best camera with the spectacular results are mentioned below.

1. Nokia N8

Nokia has used a unique camera lens in its smartphones and is quite successful with it. The camera consists of a huge image sensor with 2.8 sized aperture and a 5.9 millimeter focal length which results in quality photos. 2. Samsung Pixon 1.2

This smartphone by Samsung provides a very wide angular lens which is thirty millimeters in length. This enables the user to take a wide view of the surrounding or a scene and the settings can be adjusted from fifty to sixteen hundred on the resolution scale. Apart from this, the user can change the balance and the exposure while making a video or taking a photograph. The camera has got the capacity of twelve mega pixels but the image sensor is below par.

3. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

This smartphone is one of the best smartphones to have been launched by Sony Ericsson this year. Though a LED photo light is present but it does not produce quality results, but photos which are taken in the daytime are not bad at all. Apart from this, there is an eight mega pixel camera from which a user can take some good photos, though they may not be of superior quality. Read Full Review

4. IPhone 4

This smartphone from Apple has got a camera which is just good and the user has to switch between the control of white balance and metering. There is a LED flash which cannot be shut at any time and the auto flash is not quite brilliant as well. But a user can change the setting for the exposure which uses three shots to result in an impressive photo.

5. Motorola Milestone XT720

The camera which is embedded in this smartphone comes with plenty of shooting options and they include six shot burst shooting, face detection and a self-portrait option as well. The user can adjust the settings to change the white balance and get the best result through the photos Apart from this; there is a touch focus tool with which a user can change the metering and get a balanced snapshot through the camera.

6. Samsung i8910 HD

Samsung i8910HD smartphone is a bit different from other phones in way that it has got additional control settings for the operation of the camera embedded in it. This means that a user can adjust the setting of metering, ISO and white balance according to his requirement and this can range between hundred till sixteen hundred on scale.

7. HTC 7 Mozart

HTC 7 Mozart smartphone has got eight mega pixels camera present within it and quality of the photographs which are taken are impressive as well. But the level of brightness is not that good and the user cannot adjust the setting according to his requirement. Another aspect is that the quality of the colours is also not displayed in better and clear way.

8. Sony Ericsson Satio

Sony Ericsson Satio smartphone has got a twelve mega pixels camera present inside it. But this camera does have the manual control settings which may irritate the user when he is taking photos at any time. The ISO and contrast cannot be adjusted and are thus, not up to the standard as compared to other phones.

9. Sony Ericsson C905+

Sony Ericsson C905+ smartphone has got a modern and recent camera embedded inside it. But the disadvantage is that there are no control settings for exposure, metering, contrast and macro mode and therefore, it can be slow to operate whenever the user takes photos from it.

10. Nokia N86

Nokia N86 smartphone has got Carl Zeiss camera having a Tessar lens. The user can zoom to take pictures from ten centimeters and beyond with quite ease. But the user cannot take a long distance snapshot easily.
