Mac OS X Lion DP3 released

Creativity | 2011. 4. 30. 10:52 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

Mac OS X Lion may be just around the corner. Today (4/29, Fri), Mac OS X Lion Developer Preview 3 has been released.

스크린샷_2011-04-29_at_오후_6.36.14.png

There are not many features changed to DP3, but something about item (icon) sliding function has been changed.

DP2 (11A430e) -> DP3 (11A444d)

Animated tabs -> Normal tabs like the ones in SnowLeopard

 스크린샷_2011-04-29_오후_7.30.04.png

The third developer preview release of Mac OS X Lion reverts an experimental change in how tabbed panes are drawn and animated, dropping a iOS-like slider animation to present the active tab as simply a depressed button.
Apple is retaining Lion's toned down new version of its Aqua design language, which strips much of the bright blue highlighting and bubbly interface controls such as buttons and window navigation arrows, the omission of which tend to make Mac OS X look more cohesively related to iOS.

However, Lion's new sliding pane tabs, which originally appeared to make the control function like a physically raised button that slid into place on a click (as depicted below) have been revised in Lion DP3 to work, but not look, more like the existing controls in Snow Leopard.

Aqua.Speechpane.png

The overall look of the new tab controls when they appear in nestled panes is portrayed below, comparing the Speech pane in Snow Leopard with the revised appearance of Lion DP3. The graphics also depict the loss of colored highlighting throughout the interface, and flatter, round radio button controls as opposed to the "candy drop" bubbles introduced by Aqua.

iPhone 5 will be released this September with the same design

Creativity | 2011. 4. 19. 14:32 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

The iPhone 5 will feature the same design as the iPhone 4, but include an A5 CPU, improved antenna design, and include a higher resolution 8 megapixel camera, according to a research analyst with contacts in Apple’s supply chain. The analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, also claims Apple will be ramping up production of the iPhone 5 in August for either a September or October 2011 release, suggesting the iPhone 5 will lag behind the date of WWDC 2011 by several months.

iphone-5-same-design-iphone-4.jpg

The analysts notes appeared on AppleInsider, which goes on to mention that a fall release of an iPhone 5 could push back an update to the iPod touch lineup, possibly due to component shortages.

Ming-Chi Kuo has a fairly accurate history of predictions regarding Apple products and releases. AppleInsider notes that Kuo accurately predicted that iPad 2 would have the same screen resolution as the first gen iPad, and that iPad 2 would include the same camera as the iPod touch. Additionally, MacRumors reminds us that Kuo was right about the redesigned MacBook Air that made an appearance last year.

It’s unclear if this report has any relation to rumors of a smaller and cheaper iPhone, which made the rounds earlier in the year from the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Forbes.

mac-os-x-lion-developer-preview-2.jpg

Apple has released Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Developer Preview 2 (Build 11A419).

The new build comes as 11A419 and presumably contains mostly bug fixes and feature refinements to an otherwise stable developer preview.

Download Mac OS X Lion Preview 2

Registered developers can access the download either through Software Update in Mac OS X Lion, through the Mac App Store, or as a standalone download through the Mac developer center.  If you skipped the first Developer Preview release and you want to try Developer Preview 2, you can dual boot and install Lion alongside 10.6 without formatting your drive. Note that you’ll want the standalone download if you choose this option.

Public Release Coming Soon

Apple announced last fall that Mac OS X Lion is scheduled for a summer release date, with WWDC 2011 looking as the most likely time for a launch. Recent rumors suggest it could even be sooner.

Happy Birthday to Mac OSX 10 years old

Creativity | 2011. 3. 24. 19:48 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

Believe it or not, Mac OS X is celebrating it’s birthday and turns 10 years old today. First released to the public on March 24, 2001, Mac OS X 10.0 Cheetah was a huge conceptual leap forward for the Mac platform. Unfortunately the first OS X iteration was painfully slow and largely unusable due to performance issues, and these troubles kept most Mac users on Mac OS 9 until 10.1 was released which sped things up dramatically. Things rapidly evolved from there and the rest is obviously history.

mac-os-x-10-years.jpg

This is what the first release of Mac OS X 10 Cheetah looked like, featuring elements that are still familiar today but with a candy striped Aqua interface:

mac-os-x-10-cheetah.jpg

Over the course of 10 years, what started as Mac OS X Cheetah has been refined into Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, which is scheduled for release this summer and looks a bit different:

Happy Birthday to Mac OS X!

Will Mac OS X be around in another 10 years? Probably not by name, but elements of it will surely live long into Apple’s future.

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Now Available in Torrent Sites

Creativity | 2011. 3. 18. 22:09 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

Developer preview version of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion has already been released by Apple. As soon as Apple seeded an early version of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion to the developers, it was only a matter of time, and now the disk image is being shared by a good few thousand of users on various torrent sites. Now you can download Mac OS X 10.7 Lion from various Torrent sites but it is not safe to download it from the torrent sites.

According to 9to5Mac, an installed version of Lion will “phone home” to Apple with no telling whether the Cupertino outfit will seek to block users not already registered as a developer. Also, it really makes a little sense to download it from a shady site however when Apple offers a Mac Dev account for just $99. So it is wise to register in Mac developer account.

Full press release is as follows:

Apple Releases Developer Preview of Mac OS X Lion

CUPERTINO, California—February 24, 2011—Apple® today released a developer preview of Mac OS® X Lion, which takes some of the best ideas from iPad™ and brings them back to the Mac® for the eighth major release of the world’s most advanced operating system. Lion features Mission Control, an innovative new view of everything running on your Mac; Launchpad, a new home for all your Mac apps; full screen apps that use the entire Mac display; and new Multi-Touch™ gestures. Lion also includes the Mac App Store℠, the best place to discover, install and automatically update Mac apps. The Lion preview is available to Mac Developer Program members through the Mac App Store today, and the final version of Lion will ship to customers this summer.

“The iPad has inspired a new generation of innovative features in Lion,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “Developers are going to love Mission Control and Launchpad, and can now start adding great new Lion features like full screen, gestures, Versions and Auto Save to their own apps.”

mac-app-store.png

Mission Control is a powerful, entirely new feature that unifies Exposé®, Dashboard, Spaces®, and full screen apps to give you a bird’s eye view of every app and window running on your Mac. With a simple swipe, your desktop zooms out to display your open windows grouped by app, thumbnails of your full screen apps as well as your Dashboard, and allows you to instantly navigate anywhere with a click.

Launchpad makes it easier than ever to find and launch any app. With a single click, Launchpad displays all your Mac apps in a stunning full screen layout where you can launch, re-order or organize apps into folders. You can also arrange apps into multiple pages and swipe between them.

Lion brings the full screen experience that iPad users love to the Mac. With one click, your application window goes full screen, taking advantage of your Mac’s brilliant display. You can swipe from one full screen window to another and even back to your Desktop or Dashboard.

New Multi-Touch gestures and fluid animations give you a natural and intuitive way to interact with your Mac. New gestures include pinching your fingers to zoom in on a web page or image, swiping left or right to turn a page or switch between full screen apps and swiping up to enter Mission Control.

Lion also includes the Mac App Store, where you can find great new apps, buy them with your iTunes® account, and download and install them in just one step. Apps purchased from the Mac App Store are installed directly into Launchpad.

5 much wanted features in iPhone 5

Creativity | 2010. 12. 13. 15:33 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

Apple is known to come up with remarkable gadgets that have

no match . After iPhone 4 people are now waiting for the next

release by Apple. iPhone 5 is yet to hit the markets and customers

have high expectations from it .The five much wanted features in

this upcoming phone are what we tend to review here.

The launch of iPhone five has not been announced yet but people

tend to have a number of expectations from it . There are certain

characteristics that people want to see in the new iPhone,

they are as follows :

1. Larger screen:

The iPhone 4 screen may be an appropriate size but with competitors

working on making their screens bigger , it would be best for apple

to increase the size of the screen in  the iPhone 5. Customers would

be able to work on the phone more efficiently.

2. educed dropped calls:

Customers wish that the upcoming iPhone should give them the best

call quality and the issue faced by the previous iPhone in terms of calls

dropping better be eliminated with the use of advanced and better

technology be it inclusion of more antennas .

3. Improved call quality:

The call quality on the iPhone 4 has been questionable in terms of the

fact that not only is it  unclear frequent disturbance has also been

observed. Customers hope that the new iPhone 5 would come equipped

with an additional microphone that diffuses the noise.

4. Xenon flash:

Most phones come loaded with Xenon or LED flash , however iPhone 4

was the first phone by apple that had a flash . This may not be as efficient

as compared to the xenon flash but it has served the purpose.

Now we hope that the new iPhone’s that come into the market come

with xenon flash to improve the picture quality further more.

5. Technology to facilitate multitasking:

Most customers want to be able to multitask on their phone. However

the previous versions of iPhone were not compatible to do so.

According to apple doing so uses too much battery life , but due to

public demand it might be incorporated in the new version of the iPhone.

new MacBook Air

Creativity | 2010. 11. 18. 03:25 | Posted by 스마트 안전보건

This is new MacBook Air Apple recently launched. I saw it in the apple store at UNC.

Allegedly, It is very thin and light like a feather or an air.

But it doesn't have CD/DVD Rom and have SSD (Solid State Disk) which has the merit of

the speed of booting, but has limitations of storage capacity.
