Using the color wheel

  1. Shape within the color wheel form three- and four-color harmonies.
  2. Analogous schemes are formed by three adjacent colors.
  3. Analogous schemes are often more smooth and rich feeling.
  4. Complementary pairs are opposites on the wheel.
  5. Complementary colors have lots of contrast and pop.
  6. Trying lots of combinations helps you choose the best result.
